a multicolor Sunday
It’s pouring in town and we need a plan to beat the rainy-day blues. “Let’s go to Forte!” Risky? No, genius! Because Forte is always generous with her light and her colors, her air of freedom, her elegance. To transform an “anyday” into a day to remember

Clouds and gloom in town. Atmospheric pressure in freefall. Red alert: maximum ennui. But no, weather, you will not foil out quest to escape boredom! Late spring, and there’s nothing here, nothing. We need an open sky, a bright window, an exclamation point to end our weekend in style.
“Let’s go to Forte!”
Now there’s an idea. Risky, though. The forecast isn’t good. And if it’s raining, what’ll we do at the seashore?
“We’re going to Forte!”
The car roars toward the coast. A ruby star on four wheels. That dash of optimism we need to beat the weather. But the clouds are gathered over Versilia too, ready to roll down from the Apuans to the beach. For now, luckily, they’re still up there, pushed back in place by the breeze off the sea. There’s hope, even though – at 1 p.m., aperitif under the pines – a drop has begun to fall here and there. Was it really too risky?
But no! In a minute, everything changes. First a quick winking ray, then an inundation – of light. The gray retreats; color moves in. The light is in beach mode, and that’s where we’re heading! Oh, the beach: was it ever really this . . . big? Where is everyone? Did they stay in town?
The first popsicle, toes burrowed into the sand; the colorful cabanas, the dunes, the cacti, the beach huts, the reed mats that draw their lines of shade across faces and arms. And the games, the pranks, girls’ secrets, races along the hard-packed sand at the waterline, watching the horizon. A multicolor afternoon. Feeling . . . wow! Feather-light. No worries.
A multicolor afternoon. Feeling . . . wow! Feather-light. No worries. A Sunday for the books. And now what? “Downtown!”
A Sunday for the books. And now what?
“Downtown!”
Which, with all those bikes, the skaters, the palm trees scratching the sky, feels a bit like Beverly Hills. Along the boulevards, like in California, a parade of supercars. But none draws as many gawking, admiring looks as ours. What lines, and what a color! Is it red? Is it pink? It’s unique, we want to whisper (a knowing look, a complicit wink, a smile), just like we three are.
And here are our friends, they too escapees from the tedious sameness of an overcast Sunday in town. A stroll in Forte center, the shop windows, the Fortino, a stop for a drink when the sun begins to sink over the sea. Now’s the moment for an essential ritual: but then, can anyone really come here and not take a walk on the Pontile? From out there, the sunset is worth two. Turn away from the painted sea and you’ll find the colors of the day splashed on the hills of Versilia, on the sides of the Apuan mountains, over the sky, already darker and deeper looking inland. A spectacle that changes in a few instants, the denouement of an idyll we wish might never end. Perfect sensations marking the close of a very special day. Ciao Forte! We’ll be back soon!

color and personality
Our friends’ ride on their multicolor Sunday in Forte dei Marmi is the Porsche 718 Boxster in an eye-catching new color launched just a few months ago by the Stuttgart marque. The name, Ruby Star Neo, makes direct reference to the historic – and very popular – Ruby Star (or better, Rubystone) hue that created a sensation in the early Nineties when it appeared on the skin of the 911 Carrera RS 964. An extra plus, a creative touch certain to please anyone who loves this car, with its strong, sporty personality and well-defined style.
The model tested in Forte dei Marmi boasted a number of custom features added at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur – the department which, since 1986, fills Porsche customers’ special requests – such as the contrasting chalk stitching in the interiors and the glossy black wheels on our car, and much more. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur also enhanced the dynamic and sporting credentials of this 718 Boxster with the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with ride height lowered by 10 mm. Also onboard are important accessories for riding comfort such as seat ventilation, the navigation module including Porsche Connect, and Apple CarPlay.
Purchase isn’t the only alternative for experiencing the thrill of driving this jewel: you might opt for the exclusive Porsche Drive short-term rental plan proposed by Porsche Firenze.
