setting sail on the seas of art

Perini Navi Artexplorer, the largest sailing catamaran ever built, is a floating museum that brings art experiences to every corner of the world

It is the largest sailing catamaran ever built. More than that, it is also a traveling museum, the first and so far only of its kind to navigate the seas, bringing art experiences and environmental awareness to every corner of the world. An out-of-the-ordinary sailing exhibition gallery where the charm of the sea and human creativity collide to generate engaging experiences.

Artexplorer carries the signature of Perini Navi, a world leader in designing and constructing large modern sailing ships. Currently, it is the flagship brand of The Italian Sea Group, founded and led by Giovanni Costantino, to which the Tecnomar, Admiral, Picchiotti, and NCA Refit brands also belong. The first catamaran launched by Perini in over thirty-five years of history is a prime testament to how far the know-how and construction daring of the historic Viareggio shipyard can still go.

The prominent studio, represented by architects and designers Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, curated Artexplorer’s planning and design. The yacht boasts colossal numbers: a length of 46.5 meters, an exceptional beam of 17.30 meters, and a 50-meter mast. The interior conveys timeless elegance and finesse. Each detail helps define a luxurious and welcoming space that perfectly complements the yacht’s dimensions.

The vessel will be available for charter in two years, comfortably accommodating up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms. In the meantime, Artexplorer is embarking on a thrilling sea voyage dedicated to art. Undertaken last March in Malta, with a stop in Venice in April concurrently with the opening of the Biennale exhibition, the journey will continue to Marseille in June, followed by Tangier, Rabat, Malaga, and other Mediterranean ports. For the occasion, the flybridge will be used as an area for virtual exhibitions, workshops and conferences, while the interior central space will house the main gallery with an immersive exhibition co-designed in collaboration with the Louvre Museum. Remarkable sound experiences and artist residencies are also held on board, where up to 2,000 people can be hosted daily. To participate in these activities, sign up for free through the Art Explora Academy, a new digital platform dedicated to art history courses in French and English, with educational videos created in close collaboration with the University of Paris-Sorbonne (www.artexplora.org).
